Who says you need all the bone in your nose!?!?

This Friday I go under the knife for a couple hours so this lovely Dr. can hopefully fix my re-occurring sinus infections. A week ago I didn't even think I would need surgery. I have to say I'm super thankful that I got into the Mayo system when I started with their rheumatology department back in January. I'm pretty sure my rheumatologist is on the top of the chain of command. I'm shocked at how fast he can get me into other specialists at that place.

Last week I told my rheumatologist the infection was gone, the vaccines have been injected and I was ready to start my Cimzia ASAP! Well I was quickly shot down due to the possible need for surgery. He waved his magic Mayo wand and moved my surgical consult up three weeks to today. I have to say I would have potentially had a mental breakdown if I had to wait to start these meds due to this.

We have a really awesome Halloween party planned for Saturday. I really shouldn't have surgery the day before we have people over and multiple kids, but I'm going to. While we were sitting in the office scheduling this I kept thinking to myself that the sooner this gets done the sooner I can get back on my meds. The end of November Jim and I leave for the Dominican, I want to be able to enjoy myself. Therefor I made a decision to have surgery this Friday as I know that my most amazing family and friends will help me pull this party together.

I have to say that my arthritis has been far from awesome the past few weeks. However my son has been super awesome. He has been super helpful and getting his stuff done as he knows I'm not able to do much lately. The other morning he said to me "mom I just want to scream out to all the people in the world for you to feel better". He is so sweet and makes me so proud!

I get photos from my surgery so you lucky ducks can get a glimpse of what the inside of my nose looks like:) I know, exciting right!

Em
